ZETA SLOW JAMS

Forest Heath Public Radio Limited, the parent company of 105-3 ZACK FM offers a Basic Radio Broadcasting  Course.

This is a free course, and is offered up to 10 times a year. Anyone is welcome to join, however, we limit the maximum number of course participants to 12.

Courses are one day a week for four weeks, usually on the weekends between 10am – 4pm, but they can be arranged for other days.

Students get hands-on training using the latest broadcasting software and digital equipment. With an instructional foundation in broadcasting concepts, students put their knowledge to work in modern broadcast studios.

Successful broadcasting students tend to be energetic and creative people who are good writers. They thrive in a hands-on environment and enjoy working with new concepts in both technology and theory.

The successful broadcasting student works as a team player and is task oriented. Other helpful traits include the ability to work well under deadline pressures and to think critically.
Students are prepared to work in radio, television, audio, video, and related applications. They are prepared to work in a multimedia environment, in sales, editing (both digital or analogue), broadcasting management, or marketing.

The program includes an internship program that helps open doors for employment.

Several credential options are available. The Basic Skills option is available free of charge or you can choose The Advanced Skills option which is our most comprehensive course and will give you the knowledge and skills to enter the radio broadcasting field.

In the Advanced Skills option, students study analogue and digital audio recording, training, microphone techniques, sound effects, and Adobe Audition and Google Automation software.

Broadcasting concepts include an introduction to the industry, OFCOM Rules, revenue sources, broadcasting law and ethics, financial and personnel management, scheduling procedures for electronic media, and station programming.

Basic communication skills are also emphasized in this curriculum, as are skills in voice and diction, broadcast and scriptwriting, oral communication, and people skills.

NEXT CLASS BEGINS ON 11-09-10
